Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 October 2026
This privacy policy explains how Wag n Walk collects, uses and looks after your personal information when you visit this website, get in touch, or use my services.
Who I am
Wag n Walk is a dog walking and pet care business run by Leah Louise Mulcaster, based in Yateley, Hampshire. I am the data controller responsible for your personal information.
If you have any questions about this policy or your information, you can contact me at:
-
Email: wagnwalk37@yahoo.com
-
Phone: 07852 157169
-
Address: Yateley, Hampshire
What information I collect
When you contact me through the website Your name, email address, and anything you include in your message (such as the subject, your dog's details and the service you're interested in).
When you become a client
-
Your name, address, phone number and email address
-
Emergency contact details, including a nominated guardian who can care for your dog if needed
-
Details about your dog, such as their name, age, breed, health, medication, behaviour, routine and vet details, and your consent for emergency veterinary treatment
-
Information needed to access your home, such as key, lockbox or alarm codes
-
Booking and payment records
Photos and videos I may take photos and videos of your dog during walks, visits and sits, to send to you and to use on Wag n Walk's social media and website. Walks take place out in public, so photos from walks may be used without prior approval. For pet sitting, which takes place in your home, I'll record your photo preferences separately and only use photos in line with them.
How I use your information
I use your information to:
-
reply to your enquiries
-
arrange and provide the services you book, including walks, visits, pet sitting and Paddock Playtime
-
keep your dog safe and cared for, including contacting you or your emergency contact, and arranging veterinary treatment in an emergency
-
send updates, photos and invoices, and take payments
-
keep records I'm required to keep by law, for example for tax purposes
-
share photos and videos of your dog, where you've agreed to this
My lawful reasons for using your information
Under UK data protection law, I can only use your information where I have a lawful reason. These are:
-
Contract: to provide the services you've booked, or to take steps you've asked for before booking, such as replying to an enquiry.
-
Legal obligation: to keep financial records required by law.
-
Legitimate interests: to run and promote my business safely and efficiently, for example keeping records of past bookings, contacting your emergency contact if needed, and sharing photos from walks on social media.
-
Consent: for using photos and videos taken during pet sitting in your home, where you've agreed to this. You can withdraw your consent at any time by letting me know.
How I store and protect your information
Paper records: client forms and agreements are kept in a filing cabinet at home.
Keys and access codes: keys are labelled with a name only, never an address, and kept in a key lock box. Access codes are treated as confidential.
Digital information: website enquiries are stored securely by Wix, my website provider, and arrive in my email inbox. I create invoices using Invoice Home, which holds your name and address, and I message clients, including sending invoices and updates, on WhatsApp.
Who I share your information with
I never sell your information. I only share it where necessary:
-
Wix, which hosts this website and stores enquiries sent through the contact form
-
My email provider (Yahoo), which handles email
-
Invoice Home, the app I use to create invoices (your name and address only)
-
WhatsApp, which I use to message clients and send invoices
-
My accountant, who helps me with my business accounts
-
Your vet, or an emergency vet, if your dog needs urgent treatment
-
Authorities, if I'm required to by law
Some of these providers may store information outside the UK. Where they do, they use appropriate safeguards to protect it.
How long I keep your information
-
Website enquiries that don't lead to a booking: up to 12 months
-
Client records: for as long as you're a client. When you stop using my services, your client records are securely shredded.
-
Financial records (invoices): for 6 years, as required for tax purposes
-
Keys: returned to you when you stop using my services
After these periods, paper records are securely shredded and digital records are deleted.
