Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 2026
These terms explain how Wag n Walk's services work. By booking a service with Wag n Walk, you agree to the terms for that service. If you've signed a separate agreement with me for a service, that signed agreement applies if there's any difference.
General terms (walks and visits)
Meet and greet
A meet and greet is required before any Wag n Walk service begins, so I can get to know you and your dog and make sure we're a good fit.
Bookings
Ad hoc clients must let me know their requirements for the following week by message no later than Sunday evening, to avoid disappointment.
Time slots
When booking a walk or visit, you'll be offered a time slot rather than an exact time. This is because of factors such as traffic, or earlier walks and visits running slightly over, which can affect when I arrive.
Cancellations
Walks and visits must be cancelled at least 24 hours before the scheduled time slot. If less than 24 hours' notice is given, you may be charged the full rate, or the walk may be rescheduled within the same week at my discretion. This is because I may not be able to fill that space.
Ending regular walks
Either of us can end a regular walking arrangement by giving 7 days' written notice (a message is fine).
Sundays and bank holidays
A £5 surcharge applies to walks and visits on Sundays and bank holidays.
Before walks
Please make sure your dog has not eaten in the hour before pick-up. This gives them time to digest their food before exercise or play, and reduces the risk of bloat (gastric torsion), which can be life-threatening.
ID tags
It is a legal requirement in the UK for dogs to wear an ID tag. Dogs will not be walked unless they are wearing an ID tag showing the owner's surname, address and contact number. The full rate for the walk will still be charged.
Vaccinations
Owners are responsible for making sure their dog is up to date with vaccinations and flea and tick treatments.
Off-lead walking and walking with other dogs
Dogs are only walked off-lead with your permission, and only at safe and appropriate times and places. Dogs are only walked with other dogs, for example on Social Walks, with your permission.
Behaviour and accurate information
-
If a dog becomes aggressive or dangerous, I may end our arrangement with immediate effect.
-
Please make sure the information you give me about you and your dog is accurate. Wrong or misleading information may mean the arrangement ends with immediate effect.
Adverse weather
I will care for your dog in all weather, including rain, wind and sun. However, I reserve the right to cancel or rearrange walks if the weather becomes dangerous for me or your dog, including (but not limited to) thunderstorms, snow and hail.
In hot weather:
-
Walks will be shortened accordingly.
-
Fresh water will be available at all times during walks.
-
Walk times may be adjusted to avoid the midday heat.
-
If you're not at home when it becomes too hot, home visits will be offered in place of walks. These include toileting, fresh water, food if requested, safe levels of physical activity, mental stimulation and plenty of cuddles.
In cold weather, cold-weather measures will apply from −1°C. From −10°C, walks will be cancelled or switched to home visits. This is at my discretion, based on the conditions and your dog as an individual.
Photos and social media
Walks take place out in public, so by booking a walk you consent to your dog being photographed or filmed and the images being used in Wag n Walk's media or advertising without prior approval. All such media remains the property of Wag n Walk. For pet sitting, which takes place in your home, your photo preferences are recorded separately (see Pet Sitting, section 20).
Booking
-
Drop-In Visits can be requested at any time and are subject to availability.
-
Early booking is recommended, especially for 60-minute visits.
Cancellations
-
If Wag n Walk switches a walk to a Drop-In Visit (for example due to weather, heat or injury), the same 24-hour cancellation policy as walks applies.
-
If a visit is booked specifically (for example a one-off, holiday or ad hoc visit), a minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to cancel.
-
Cancellations with less notice may be charged in full.
Additional charges
A £5 surcharge applies to visits on Sundays and bank holidays.
Access
-
Clients must provide reliable access to their home (for example a key, lockbox or code).
-
If access isn't possible on arrival (for example due to key issues), the full fee still applies.
Wet and muddy days
If conditions are wet or muddy, your pet will be towel-dried as best as possible. Please make sure your pet is contained, or areas are protected, if you're concerned about muddy paws. Wag n Walk cannot accept responsibility for any mess caused if your pet is free to roam.
General notes
-
Pets must be up to date with flea and worming treatment.
-
Any care, medication or feeding instructions must be clearly communicated.
-
Drop-In Visits are carried out with the same care and attention as all Wag n Walk services.
-
Visits are subject to availability and may not always be possible at short notice.
Paddock Playtime
Deposits, booking and payment
-
Each session costs £18 per dog.
-
Monthly Paddock Playtime dates are released a couple of weeks in advance, and you can choose and confirm which sessions you'd like to book.
-
A 50% non-refundable deposit (£9) is required for all selected dates when you confirm. For example, if you choose two dates, your total deposit will be £18.
-
Deposits are non-refundable and can't be transferred to other dates or sessions.
-
Invoices for your chosen sessions will be sent once your selections are received.
-
Your booking is only secured once the deposit has been paid.
-
Spaces are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis.
-
If your dog has other walks or visits in the same week, the remaining balance for Paddock Playtime will be added to that week's invoice.
-
Weekly invoices are due for payment within two days of issue.
Cancellations
-
Please give at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel.
-
Deposits are non-refundable regardless of the notice given.
Collection and drop-off
-
Collection and drop-off times can vary depending on the dogs booked in and their locations.
-
You'll receive a message the day before your booking confirming the order and approximate collection time.
-
Please make sure your dog is ready at the agreed time so everything runs smoothly.
-
If there are any changes or delays, I'll always do my best to keep you updated.
Session duration
Each session lasts 60 minutes in total: 50 minutes of off-lead play in a secure woodland/meadow area, and 10 minutes for washing down, towel drying and helping dogs settle before drop-off.
Grouping and supervision
-
Dogs are grouped according to temperament and energy levels to make sure the session is safe and enjoyable.
-
Every effort is made to provide appropriate matches, but Wag n Walk reserves the right to remove any dog from a session if their behaviour puts others at risk.
Safety and environment
-
Paddock Playtime takes place in a secure woodland/meadow space.
-
Dogs are supervised at all times and are only allowed off-lead within the secure area.
Wet and muddy weather
-
In wet or muddy conditions, dogs will be washed down and towel-dried as best as possible before drop-off, but they may still return home muddy or damp.
-
Owners are responsible for making sure their home is prepared (for example doors closed or dog contained) to avoid mess.
-
Wag n Walk accepts no responsibility for muddy furniture or flooring.
Clothing and extras
-
If you're concerned about your dog getting muddy, you're welcome to supply a full-leg-length dog jacket.
-
Jackets must be clearly labelled and provided at the time of collection.
-
I'll do my best to make sure jackets are removed and returned clean, but some mud may still be present after the session.
Health and suitability
-
Dogs must be up to date with vaccinations and flea and worm treatments.
-
Dogs must be sociable with other dogs and able to travel comfortably in a car with them.
-
Any changes in health, behaviour or routine must be communicated before the session.
Pet Sitting
These terms form part of the Wag n Walk Pet Sitting Contract.
1. Eligibility
Pet sitting is available exclusively to dogs who are already part of the Wag n Walk family. This allows me to provide care based on my existing knowledge of your dog's personality, routine and needs.
2. Pet sitting services
Day pet sitting: up to 2 hours £25, up to 4 hours £40, up to 5 hours £60. I remain with your dog for the full duration of day sits. Day sitting may include feeding, fresh water, toilet breaks, play, enrichment, companionship and keeping to your dog's usual routine.
Overnight pet sitting (5pm–9am): £45. Overnight sits are available at weekends, from 5pm on Friday until 9am on Monday. If you need different times, please get in touch – it may be possible, subject to availability. Your dog must be comfortable being left alone for short periods of up to approximately 1 hour, if required. This may be needed if I have a pre-arranged 30-minute walk or drop-in visit during the evening or morning. Otherwise, I remain with your dog throughout and keep to their usual routine.
24-hour pet sitting: £80 per 24 hours. For dogs who can be left alone for up to 4 hours during the daytime, where appropriate and agreed in advance. This allows me to continue my regular Wag n Walk commitments while your dog is cared for in their own home. Where a booking extends beyond 24 hours but doesn't make up another full 24-hour period, the additional time will be quoted according to the booking times and the applicable rate.
Continuous 24-hour care: £100 per 24 hours. For dogs who cannot be left alone, or where the owner would like uninterrupted care. I remain with your dog throughout and do not undertake my regular dog walking commitments during this time.
3. Additional dogs
Pet sitting prices are based on one dog. An additional £7 applies for each additional dog, on top of any booking. For example, a 24-hour sit for two dogs would be £87.
4. Sundays and bank holidays
A £5 surcharge applies to bookings taking place on Sundays or bank holidays.
5. Payment
Overnight, 24-hour and continuous care: a 20% booking deposit, based on the total cost of the booking, is required when the booking is confirmed. The booking is only confirmed once the deposit has been received. The remaining 80% is payable either on the day the sitting begins or once it has been completed, as agreed when booking. Any additional charges agreed during the booking will be added to the final balance.
Day pet sitting: no deposit is required. Payment is due as agreed when the booking is confirmed.
6. Cancellation
Overnight, 24-hour and continuous care: a minimum of 7 days' notice is required to cancel. With more than 7 days' notice, the 20% deposit will be refunded. Within 7 days of the scheduled sitting, the deposit is non-refundable. If I'm able to fill the cancelled booking with another client, I may, at my discretion, refund some or all of the deposit.
Day pet sitting: a minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to cancel. With more than 48 hours' notice, no cancellation fee applies. With less than 48 hours' notice, the full booking fee is payable. If I'm able to fill the cancelled booking, I may, at my discretion, waive or reduce the charge.
If I need to cancel a booking due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, I'll give as much notice as reasonably possible. Where I can, I may offer a substitute sitter, but only with your written approval, and I'll cover any difference in cost. Otherwise, I'll refund any payments made for services I'm unable to provide.
7. Continuous care
You must let me know before booking if your dog cannot be left alone. If continuous care is required, the continuous care rate applies. If your dog's needs change during a booking and continuous care becomes necessary, this will be discussed with you, and any additional charges agreed before being applied wherever reasonably possible.
8. Veterinary emergencies
If your dog becomes ill or injured while in my care, I'll make every reasonable effort to contact you using the contact details provided. If you can't be contacted and urgent veterinary attention is needed, I reserve the right to seek veterinary treatment in your dog's best interests. Any veterinary treatment and associated costs remain your responsibility.
9. Medication
Medication will only be given if this has been discussed and agreed before the booking. You must provide enough medication, together with clear written instructions on dosage and timing.
10. Health
You must tell me about any existing medical conditions, injuries, illnesses or other health concerns before the booking. Dogs showing signs of a contagious illness should not be booked for pet sitting.
11. Behaviour and safety
You must tell me about any known behavioural or safety concerns before the booking, including but not limited to aggression, resource guarding, separation anxiety, escape tendencies, fear of people or other animals, and any behaviour that may present a risk to your dog, the sitter or others. If a dog shows behaviour that presents a significant safety risk, Wag n Walk reserves the right to end the booking.
12. Food and equipment
You're responsible for providing everything needed for the booking, including where applicable: enough food, treats, medication, lead and harness, poo bags, toys, a bed and any other essential items. Clear feeding and care instructions should be provided before the booking begins.
13. Your home
You agree to leave the property in a clean, safe and suitable condition for pet sitting. I'll treat your property and belongings with care and respect, and leave the property secure and reasonably tidy at the end of the booking.
14. Keys and home security
Any keys, alarm codes or access information given to Wag n Walk will be treated as confidential and handled securely. You're responsible for providing working access to the property for the whole booking.
15. CCTV and recording devices
You must tell me about any CCTV, doorbell cameras or other recording devices before the booking begins. External security cameras used for normal home security are acceptable. Any internal cameras or recording devices must be disclosed, and their use during the sit agreed in advance.
16. Visitors
You must let me know if anyone else is expected to enter the property during the booking, including family members, friends, neighbours, cleaners, tradespeople or any other visitors.
17. Weather
Your dog's welfare always comes first. Outdoor activities may be shortened, adapted or replaced with suitable indoor enrichment during extreme heat, storms or other unsuitable weather.
18. Delayed return
If your return home is delayed, every effort will be made to continue caring for your dog, subject to availability. Any additional pet sitting beyond the agreed booking will be charged at the applicable rate and discussed with you wherever reasonably possible.
19. Changes to a booking
The agreed dates, times, service and price will be confirmed before the booking. Any changes, including extending the sitting time or changing the level of care, must be discussed and agreed in advance wherever possible. Additional charges may apply where a change results in extra time or responsibility.
20. Photographs and social media
Wag n Walk may take photos or videos of dogs during their care for use on Wag n Walk's social media or promotional materials. Your preference regarding photography and social media will be recorded separately.
21. Insurance and responsibility
You remain responsible for providing accurate information about your dog, including any known medical, behavioural or safety concerns. Wag n Walk will provide care responsibly and to the best of my ability. You remain responsible for veterinary costs, damage caused by your dog, and any other costs arising from information that was not disclosed before the booking.
